Claregalway Castle Botanical Art Expo is a well-established annual event for Irish botanical artists, and after a hiatus of 2 years due to the Covid pandemic, we once again look forward to exhibiting a bumper crop of paintings during the popular Galway Garden Festival held in the grounds of the beautifully restored medieval castle.

The Botanical Art Expo and the Galway Garden Festival attract visitors from all over Ireland and overseas, and many of Ireland’s top specialist nurseries have stands at the Festival, along with artisan food and craft stalls, a wide variety of music events in the courtyard, talks by visiting speakers, and lots more for the entire family. Admission to the Festival includes entry to the exhibition.

We have lots of space in the gallery area, so we hope that even if you have not exhibited at Claregalway before, you will submit work for this festive exhibition. We also welcome artists’ merchandise such as cards and prints etc (see terms & conditions for details).

The Irish Society of Botanical Artists is very kindly offering, once again, an award for the ‘Peoples’ Choice’ painting chosen by visitors to the exhibition.

Please click the link below for the entry form for details about submitting work. Arrangements will be in place to transport paintings from artists exhibiting at Bloom (see entry form for more details). The deadline for entries is Friday 10 June (entry form including terms and conditions is attached). As long as your entry is in by the deadline, images of paintings may be submitted until Wednesday 15 June. Please read the terms and conditions carefully, and if you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me at laragan.hall@gmail.com.
