APPROACH AND INSPIRATION
From early childhood I was very aware of the beauty and scents of the wild flowers in the local hedgerows and fields, so it was such a pleasure to be able to draw and paint them later in life!

BIOGRAPHY
I began painting in my late thirties, attending a class at my local Adult Education Centre, Bray VEC. After a couple of years, I was favouring Botanical Watercolours, and my tutor suggested I treat myself to a Wendy Walsh course. I was so inspired by this wonderful woman and her work, that her course served to confirm my desire to specialise in Botanical Portraits.

EXHIBITIONS AND AWARDS
My work is now in private collections at home and abroad. The OPW has purchased my work over the years, and recently bought for their collection my painting Our Four Seasons, which was a winner in the Winsor and Newton Worldwide Millenium Art competition/exhibition. The piece, a map of Ireland full of flowers, originally went on exhibition in the Mall Galleries, London; the Trade Centre, Stockholm; and the United Nations Building, New York.

I have received some wonderful commissions over the years, and am now delighted to be a member of our very own ISBA , and equally delighted to have had my paintings selected to be shown in our inaugural exhibition, Aibitir in 2014 and the Plandaí Oidhreachta exhibition in late 2016. I enjoy showing my paintings each summer at Bloom (where I won a bronze this year!) and at Claregalway Castle’s super garden show.
